This was the first of two back-to-back Big Day Out shows in Sydney at the Showgrounds. Metallica also played a headlining show in Sydney two days earlier at the Entertainment Centre.
The last time Metallica played in Sydney was April 3 and 4, 1998.
Some of the opening bands were The Strokes, Dandy Warhols, The Darkness, The Flaming Lips, Jet, The Mars Volta, Basement Jaxx, and The Datsuns. |

This is the only part of the show that was broadcasted on Channel [V] (an Australian TV station).
This DVD is short, but very very sweet. The energy here is amazing, and Channel [V] did an excellent job re-mastering the sound. Get this one ASAP! |
